About

Mirai no Uta to, Tsunagaru Hitomi is a narrative-driven visual novel that follows a tense and evolving relationship between a human and an otherworldly entity. Set against a backdrop of recurring conflicts and uneasy interactions, the story unfolds through dialogue and choices that shape the dynamic between the two characters. Music plays a central role, with Vocaloid tracks woven into the experience to reflect the shifting emotions and connections. The gameplay focuses on reading cues, making decisions, and observing how these moments influence the bond between the protagonists. The game stands out for its abstract storytelling and integration of original Vocaloid compositions. While it lacks widespread community metrics, its niche release at Comiket 76 and focus on thematic depth over traditional visual novel tropes have carved a dedicated following. The evolving relationship, starting with friction and moving toward mutual understanding, feels deliberate, emphasizing how music bridges divides. Its 2009 PC release may show some age, but the emotional core and unique sound design remain its defining traits.

Storyline

Our first encounter was terrible. Our meeting is terrible each time. Our conversation is terrible each time. You and me. If we hadn't known each other, we wouldn't have changed. However, we learned that: It's more fun to be two of us. The music can cross the line between a man and a non-human. New sound appears from our encounter. The more we know about each other, the tighter our bond becomes. New "song" created by two binds us together and spreads to the world...
