MLB 2002 brings big league baseball to the PlayStation with a focus on simulation depth. Play through a full 162-game season, playoffs, or build a franchise as general manager. The game lets you control team decisions from drafts to trades while managing in-game action on the field. Single-player and split-screen options support both casual matches and long-term campaigns. Authentic team rosters and stadium details add to the realism. The game uses over 300 motion-capture animations for natural-looking plays and 250 player-specific moves developed with input from real MLB stars. Hall of Famer Vin Scully handles play-by-play with Dave Campbell as color analyst. Split-screen multiplayer lets two players take the field simultaneously, though online modes are absent. While dated by today’s standards, its detailed approach to franchise management and ballpark authenticity still impresses retro sports fans.
