"There are simply too many things working against Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme VS-Force. The stiffer combat system doesn't work for anything but one-on-one battles, while your AI partners can be rather useless. The story doesn't feel like any attention had been paid to it, and the lack of localization for important parts of a fight certainly hurts things if you aren't keen on replaying stages. Given the lack of online play and some of the bland presentation, it's difficult for even the biggest Gundam fan to get behind this title."

Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs. Gundam Next is the sequel to the 2007 arcade mecha brawler. Take control of iconic mobile suits in fast-paced one-on-one battles. The game adds new units and stages while keeping the tight controls and strategic depth from the original. Single player modes include story campaigns and training exercises while online multiplayer lets you test skills against other pilots. The roster features some of the most popular units from across the Gundam universe including RX-78-2 and Zeta Gundam. Arcade-style scoring and combo systems encourage flashy yet precise play. Though its 2009 release date makes it over a decade old it still holds up as one of the more accessible entries in the long-running VS series.
