A mechanized ninja swings blades while hurling energy projectiles. A third craft trades speed for laser barrages that carve through enemies. Each unit plays differently requiring quick reflexes and smart positioning as the action ramps up. The controls are tight and the pace rarely lets up making it a pick up and play option for frantic shootouts. The game shines in its variety of playstyles and escalating intensity. Players can swap between units mid battle or stick to one and master its moveset. With no slowdown during big explosions or enemy swarms the arcade style keeps everything smooth. Though short on story the setup about defending Earth from a bizarre alien force adds enough context to justify the chaos. Its 2018 release brought a fresh take on classic shooter mechanics that still holds up for quick sessions.
