"Overall Monopoly Madness can be a fun game when playing with friends; however, playing the game solo can be an infuriating task based on how the AI plays. Rather than feeling fair and balanced, it seems like the AI has a vendetta against humans. Is Ubisoft secretly programming the upcoming terminators? Mr. Monooly’s voice lines will make you want to stop playing the game. The game would be better off without him or with more dialog lines. As a whole, the game is fun but not meant for all ages. Even those that love Monopoly will grow tired of this game after two hours. The game is fine to play for a short amount of time but it is a good idea to take breaks."

Monopoly brings the iconic real estate battle to retro computer platforms. Up to eight players can compete, with options for human or computer-controlled opponents. Choose between a timed short game or a longer match, and pause to save progress. All interactions are handled via keyboard commands, with prompts displayed in the board’s center. Each turn involves buying properties, paying rent, and navigating chance events. Player details like cash and assets are visible on screen, helping track the competition. The game adapts to multiple graphic styles and offers flexible play options. This version leans into simplicity, relying on straightforward controls and familiar mechanics. While lacking modern tweaks, its direct translation of the board game rules makes it a solid choice for fans of the original. Running on 1980s systems like the Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum, it appeals to retro gaming circles. The ability to let computer players battle it out solo adds variety. With no frills beyond the core gameplay, it’s a no-nonsense digital port of a timeless classic.
