Monster Bash casts you as Bashman, a brawling hero battling through three spooky zones filled with monster hordes. In each level, you must zap enemies while collecting candles to power up a magic sword. Once activated, the sword grants temporary SuperZap ability needed to kill each stage's boss - from Dracula in his haunted mansion to a shapeshifting Chameleon Man in a graveyard. The third level forces you to change the screen's background color by stepping on specific spots, revealing the invisible threat. After defeating all three bosses, the game resets with increasing difficulty. What stands out is the clever color-matching mechanic in Chameleon Man's level, a creative twist on stealth enemies. The co-op multiplayer mode lets two players team up, though supplies of power-ups force teamwork. With its looping structure and escalating challenges, it keeps players coming back for higher scores. Though 1982 arcade titles don't often get discussed, this one has maintained a cult following among retro gaming fans.
