Moon Alert is a fast paced side scrolling shooter where you pilot a lunar rover across treacherous alien terrain. Armed with twin photon cannons you must dodge crumbling rocks leap canyon gaps and blast waves of attackers while racing toward a distant moon base. The game supports solo play or split screen co op for two players adding to its chaotic charm. Precise timing is crucial as one misstep means immediate game over forcing you to restart from the beginning. Released on the final day of 1984 this ZX Spectrum title captures the frantic energy of early 80s arcade shooters. With its pixelated landscapes and relentless difficulty it feels like a direct descendant of Moon Patrol but with sharper controls and more varied obstacles. The original packaging promised "emergency action" and delivered through a punishing mix of platforming and combat. While simplistic by modern standards its twitch based challenges and co op mode still provide bite sized thrills for retro gaming fans.

Storyline

Emergency! Moon Alert ... Space Fighter 7 is blasted by the alien attackers; your hope for survival rests in reaching the moon-base from the wreckage of your ship. Moon Rova appears undamaged and armed with bilateral photon cannon and perpendicular jet boosters, you set out across the rugged terrain; but the aliens have located your crash site and are even now scouring the planet's surface. Accelerate, brake, jump over canyons, blast rocks, zap the aliens and above all keep a cool nerve ... one false move and it's all over! Good Luck!
