Murtop is a high-speed platformer with sharp challenging mechanics and puzzle driven levels. You control a character navigating increasingly complex stages filled with traps moving platforms and timed obstacles. The controls are tight and responsive emphasizing quick reflexes and precise jumps. Each level requires figuring out the optimal path through shifting layouts often with limited attempts. The pixel art style and chiptune soundtrack give it a nostalgic feel without leaning too hard into retro pastiche. Since launching in May 2023 on PC and Switch Murtop has drawn praise for its difficulty curve and clever level design. While the single player campaign clocks in at around 8 hours some stages have become infamous in speedrunning circles for their punishing precision requirements. The lack of save points in later levels divides players but most agree the sense of accomplishment when completing a particularly tricky section is satisfying.
