Nakajima Satoru: F-1 Hero is a Formula One racing game where you control one of four high-powered machines across 16 global Grand Prix circuits. The single-player mode lets you tackle time trials or race against AI opponents while the split-screen multiplayer supports local competition. Handling feels deliberate with weighty turns and straightaways that emphasize timing over raw speed. The game mirrors the structure of real-world GP events giving each track a distinct identity from tight city streets to open-air speedways. The split-screen mode remains its strongest feature allowing up to two players to race side by side with visible split monitors. Despite its 1988 release the game’s focus on authentic racing mechanics and variety of tracks has earned it a niche reputation among retro racing fans. With no modern remaster available it’s best approached as a historical look at early racing simulation design.
