NCAA College Basketball 2K3 is a college hoops simulation from 2002 that lets you manage teams, play exhibition matches, and test your skills in split-screen faceoffs. Kush Games built it with the usual 2K-style controls and shot mechanics but kept the focus squarely on competitive play rather than deep career modes. It runs on Xbox, PS2, and GameCube, with the latter two seeing especially niche support. The split-screen mode is responsive enough for quick rounds with a friend, though the overall presentation feels simpler than later entries in the genre. The game’s most notable trait is being the sole college basketball title for GameCube and the only one in the series to use the “College Basketball” name instead of “College Hoops.” Jay Williams of the Duke Blue Devils appears on the cover, but the real draw for collectors is its rarity, it was released in extremely limited numbers and is now one of the harder-to-find titles for the platform. While not the most advanced in its era, it’s a curiosity for fans of retro sports games or those rounding out their 2000s college basketball library.
