NCAA College Hoops 2K8 is a basketball simulation game built around college hoops action. It lets you manage teams, adjust rosters, and compete in tournament modes with detailed player animations and court physics. The 2007 release added online sharing of custom rosters through the 2K Share feature, letting players swap edits freely. Greg Oden appears on the cover and Verne Lundquist and Bill Raftery handle commentary. The game runs on PS2, PS3, and Xbox 360 with a focus on Division I teams though some schools were unlicensed or renamed due to legal issues. The roster includes nearly every D-I program at the time but skips Presbyterian and North Carolina Central while replacing Centenary with a fictional UL-Calcutta team. Coaches are generic this year after licensing issues dropped the real-name feature from previous entries. Community feedback highlights the roster editor as a standout element but some note the simplified strategy compared to later entries in the genre. 2K paused the series after this release letting EA take over college hoops licenses until EA ended their own run in 2010.
