The game returns Create-A-School mode after a one-year absence letting you build custom programs. You can personalize menus with your favorite team's colors logos and fight song. Split-screen multiplayer adds local competition while 3D cheerleaders and licensed fight songs add atmosphere. The game includes 144 schools and over 200 real fight songs giving it broad college coverage. Players collect trophies like the Heisman and rivalry-specific awards displayed in a virtual trophy room. Custom interface options and pre-season scheduling in Dynasty mode were upgrades from earlier entries. While not the most advanced sports sim today it offered deep college football simulation with nostalgic touches for fans of the series.
