Netcromancer is a sci-fi visual novel that leans into mystery and absurd dialogue. You play as someone questioning their humanity in a world of machines and existential questions. The story moves through a series of branching conversations filled with cryptic references and faux-deep philosophy. Each decision nudges the plot in odd directions but the real draw is the sheer volume of options that make even short scenes feel layered. The game is short at around half an hour per playthrough but the multiple paths and dialogue permutations offer plenty of replayability. Fans of niche sci-fi humor and meandering narratives will find it amusing. The first chapter sets up a series that leans into cyberpunk themes with a self-aware edge. It's not for everyone but those who enjoy parsing dense dialogue trees and weird premises might see it through to the end.
Netcromancer Ch. 1 is the first part of a coming series of visual novels containing mystery and sci fi elements. It is also basically an ostentatious conversation simulator for people who like robots and dead wives. It features: lots of options for no real reason but some down home, real as raisins, fake deep sci filosphy. About half an hour of gameplay for one runthrough, but multiple options and playthoughs could easily double that with enough gumption and time on your hands.
