New Planets casts you as Seth, a student racing to rescue your teacher after they vanish during a space experiment. Explore a procedurally generated alien solar system, solving physics-based puzzles and navigating hostile environments to uncover the mystery. The gameplay mixes resource management with environmental storytelling, letting you piece together logs and experiment records to progress. Combat is minimal, focusing instead on clever use of tools and terrain to overcome obstacles. The game’s strongest points are its atmospheric design and tight narrative pacing. The 10,000-light-year setting feels lived-in despite sparse NPC interaction, with eerie soundscapes and shifting planetary biomes keeping the experience fresh. While not graphically intensive, the art style leans into retro sci-fi vibes that fans of narrative-driven adventures might appreciate. A smaller but dedicated indie audience has highlighted the game’s creative worldbuilding, though some note the story beats can feel rushed between exploration segments.
In 2050, scientist Franklin owns an American space research firm called “A.R. Advanced Research Lab “discovers a new solar system located 10,000 light years from Earth. But when Franklin goes to check the teleportation machine, an unknown creature appears on the teleportation machine. Seth your student tries to warn you but to no avail, your teacher has just been teleported to a new solar system. Now Seth needs to run to save his teacher !.
