Nickelodeon All Star Brawl 2 adds more chaos to its 2D platform fighter with a stacked roster of animated icons. Play as SpongeBob, Danny Phantom, and 14 others in fast-paced battles across wacky stages. The Deluxe Edition includes four new brawlers and a Quickster SpongeBob skin. Fight solo or with friends in local and online modes, using character-specific moves to knock opponents off floating platforms. Simple controls let newcomers jump in, while deeper mechanics like supers and counters keep matches dynamic. The game leans into its IPs with over-the-top action and slapstick humor. Community ratings praise the 15+ character roster as one of the deepest in the genre. Newcomers to the series appreciate the streamlined combat and accessibility. Critics note the levels feel cramped compared to prior entries, but fans of chaotic 2D brawlers on PC and consoles are eating it up. A 12-month post-launch content plan via season pass adds replay value.
SpongeBob and Patrick are blowing bubbles when a strange portal appears and pulls Patrick in. Another portal opens and a strange voice tells SpongeBob to enter it to save Patrick, prompting him to jump in. After passing through several different worlds, SpongeBob finds Patrick, who becomes enraged and attacks him. SpongeBob subdues Patrick, returning him to normal, and they are taken to a pocket dimension called the Timeless Stardial, where they meet the one who summoned SpongeBob, Clockwork. Clockwork explains that Vlad Plasmius has gained the power to mind control other beings, and now seeks to gain control of everyone from every universe. Clockwork grants the heroes a time medallion, which will allow him to rewind time should they fall in battle, and sends them to free more potential allies from Vlad's control.
