Noah's Ark casts you as the biblical figure tasked with rescuing animal pairs before the flood. The game splits into two main gameplay styles: platforming and point-and-click adventure. You navigate various locations like Egypt and Mesopotamia, avoiding obstacles and enemies while solving basic puzzles to retrieve animals. Combat involves simple button-mashing encounters with guards. The NES version uses top-down perspectives while the PC port adds side-scrolling sections. Progress requires collecting two of each creature type across eight levels. The game stands out for its unusual mix of religious storytelling and action gameplay during the early 90s. With its 1992 release date, it predates many modern narrative-driven platformers. The challenge spikes inconsistently with some levels feeling rushed compared to others. Still, the premise of combining scripture with adventuring remains distinctive. Both versions feature basic 16-bit graphics but the PC edition offers slightly more detailed environments. A niche title that leans into its biblical roots more than most games of the era.
Noah has been commanded by God to put two of each animal aboard his ark to save them from the flood. However unhappy people from around the world have captured different animal species, preventing Noah from doing his job. Noah will need to visit these different locations and free the animals from the people holding them captive.
