Nocturnal casts you as Ardeshir, a warrior returning to his mist-shrouded homeland. The island of Nahran is swallowed by an eerie fog and you’ll need both combat skills and platforming precision to push forward. Swing your blade wield ancestral fire and navigate treacherous terrain as you uncover what lies hidden in the Mist. Each area reveals new threats and environmental puzzles that mix movement and melee attacks. The game stands out for its tight controls and atmospheric world design. Boss fights demand timing and strategy while the Mist itself changes the landscape in unexpected ways. Available on PC consoles and Switch since June 2023 it’s a self-contained adventure that leans into mythic tone without overcomplicating its core loop. Shorter than most open world games but packed with secrets for those who explore every shadowy corner.

Storyline

After a difficult journey across a troubled sea, Ardeshir, soldier of the Enduring Flame, returns home to the island of Nahran, where everything is obscured by a peculiar Mist. To uncover the cause, you must wield the sacred flame of your ancestors and carve your way to the island’s center, where secret locations and powerful abilities await.
