The game lets you switch between vehicles and direct ground troops in real-time segments. It builds on the engine from its predecessor but tacks on more vehicles and graphical tweaks to keep things fresh. The campaign is straightforward, focusing on explosive set pieces over deep storytelling. The game split critics. Some hailed its visuals as cutting-edge for the time, especially on systems with 3Dfx hardware, while others called them lackluster.
