In Nyanko New Japan you rearrange Japanese prefectures like building blocks to design a feline version of the country. Each level gives you a set of regions to stack and rotate fitting them into a new map layout. The goal is to balance landmasses and satisfy the cats’ vision for their rebuilt homeland. Gameplay focuses on spatial reasoning with a light story tying each puzzle to the Cats’ post-victory plans. The mobile-friendly controls let you tap and drag to experiment with different configurations. This puzzle game stands out for its quirky concept blending geography with cat-based humor. The Battle Cats legacy adds context but isn’t necessary to enjoy the challenges which prioritize simplicity and accessibility. While the art style leans into chibi cartoon aesthetics the real appeal lies in the clever use of real-world locations reimagined as puzzle pieces. With over 100 levels and a runtime averaging 3-5 hours it offers a compact experience that’s easy to pick up and put down between sessions.
Set after the first chapter of The Battle Cats. With Japan in their hands, the Cats plan to create the next new Japan!
