Omega Chase is a 1998 arcade game for the Vectrex that tasks players with steering a vehicle around a circular track while avoiding enemies. The challenge comes from dodging waves of foes that orbit the center in one direction as you collect points and stay ahead. The gameplay is fast and methodical, relying on quick reflexes and memorizing enemy patterns to survive increasingly intense laps. This version differs from the later Omega Chase Deluxe by keeping enemies on a single side of the track. Originally released as a download-only title, it was later included in a bundle with the game Zap. Developer Christopher Tumber designed it as a streamlined precursor to the Deluxe edition’s more chaotic dual-sided enemy approach. With its retro vector graphics and tight controls, it appeals to fans of old-school arcade precision.
