OmegaBot is a fast-paced side-scrolling shooter where you battle through a ruined world filled with mechanical enemies. You move left to right blasting waves of bots while managing limited energy. Each level throws waves of enemies at you mixed with platforming challenges. Boss fights require memorizing attack patterns and using the right weapons you pick up along the way. The controls are tight but the difficulty spikes often making deaths frequent and frustrating at times. The game runs smooth on most platforms including Switch and PS5 but the single player campaign clocks in at around six hours. Community reviews split between praising the brutal challenge and criticizing repetitive level design. With 82% on Metacritic it appeals to fans of old school difficulty but newer players might find it punishing. Developer Simon Carny released it in 2022 with minimal updates since. The pixel art style and synth soundtrack give it a retro vibe that stands out in modern indie games.
