Omegalodon flips the script on team-based action games by pitting two wildly mismatched forces against each other. One side controls a squad of armed police and soldiers using tanks, jeeps, and explosives to defend a city. The other side plays as a 100-foot prehistoric shark and a group of eco-warriors with healing beams, tearing through the metropolis in a reverse tower-defense showdown. Movement is fast and chaotic, with players switching between land vehicles and free-roaming third-person combat. The shark itself is a tanky, slow-moving threat that can crush obstacles but needs backup to hold ground. What stands out is the game’s absurd but functional premise and the way it forces teamwork in asymmetrical ways. The shark player can’t win alone, and the military team must balance offense and defense without getting overwhelmed. While not as polished as modern shooters, it carved a niche for fans of offbeat multiplayer mechanics. The PC/Mac version remains playable through Steam, with a small but dedicated community keeping matches lively for those who crave something different.
