About

Ooedo Huusui Ingaritsu Hanabi 2 is a strategy board game set during Japan's Edo era. Players take on four candidates vying to defeat a demon threatening a village. Turns involve rolling or drawing numbers to advance along a grid, balancing movement with resource management. The board degrades as attacks escalate, forcing quick decisions to protect the town before it collapses. Single-player and multiplayer modes let you test tactics alone or with up to three others. The game stands out for its historical setting and simple yet tense mechanics. The demon threat creates a countdown effect, pushing players to adapt as the map changes. While the 2000 release date makes it a niche title, fans of traditional strategy games appreciate its straightforward design and thematic cohesion. Its blend of luck and planning feels familiar but polished, with the Edo-period aesthetic adding a distinct visual flair.

Storyline

The Edo period, or Tokugawa period, is a division of Japanese history which was ruled by the shoguns of the Tokugawa family, running from 1603 to 1868. The political entity of this period was the Tokugawa shogunate. The Tokugawa shogunate was officially established in Edo on 24 March 1603 by the shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu. The Tokugawa shogunate was overthrown by the Meiji Restoration on 3 May 1868, the fall of Edo and the restoration of Tenno's rule at the reign of fifteenth and last shogun Tokugawa Yoshinobu.
