Orbital Gear throws you into space inside a hulking mech where gravity is both obstacle and ally. You'll use the pull of planets and stars to slingshot your machine across levels while blasting enemies with dual weapons from a roster of twelve. The single player offers straightforward shooting but the real action happens in multiplayer where two modes dominate. Classic deathmatch returns with orbital twists while Orbital Warfare adds a layer of strategy. In this mode each team fights to either take out the other's base or hoard energy cores from fallen mechs to charge a planet-destroying weapon. The game's standout is how it mixes fast reflexes with spatial thinking. Every match feels like a physics puzzle as you time jumps and shots around gravitational fields. While the 2014 release date might raise an eyebrow it holds up for players who enjoy chaotic team battles with a sci-fi edge. The Linux and Mac support also makes it a rare pick for cross-platform play without sacrificing depth.
