Orca 2: O Mistério de Wakkita is a turn-based RPG with adventure game elements set on a secluded island. You play Toots, a young guardian tasked with protecting Wakkita from outsiders. Partnered with a dragon named Arkos, you investigate a mysterious sailor who washes ashore, uncovering secrets tied to the island’s lore. Combat involves classic RPG mechanics with some environmental puzzles woven into the narrative. The story unfolds through dialogue and exploration, with branching choices affecting how you interact with the island’s hidden dangers. The game leans into its quirky charm with hand-drawn visuals and a slow-burn mystery. While not widely discussed in English-speaking circles, it has a small but dedicated fanbase in Brazil, where the developer is based. Its 2011 release date means it’s somewhat dated by today’s standards, but the blend of RPG systems with a personal, story-driven quest gives it a distinct vibe. The island itself feels alive with eccentric characters and oddball lore, making it memorable for players who enjoy niche, narrative-focused games.
Wakitta Island... Mommy always told me that our island was special and mysterious. Wakitta is an island far from the central islands, and travelers often don't even know we exist... I used to believe that we were like any other people in the Great Sea and that the great Orca whale created us to be small, but I guess I was wrong in the end. On a day like any other, I was alone at my observation post (I know, Daddy never lets me go up there...) and I saw something very strange on a beach near the village. There, in the middle of the Jangoa trees, there was a boat and in it, a mysterious man. As guardian of Waki-Waki, it was my duty to protect the island from strangers! I just didn't imagine that it would lead me to everything that happened...
