About

PachiPara12 blends pachinko machine simulation with a murder mystery narrative. Players manage gameplay between two modes: simulating the mechanics of Sanyo Bussan’s pachinko machines and progressing through a story where a protagonist gets tangled in a series of killings at a parlor. The story mode shifts from top-down visuals to a 3D engine borrowed from Irem’s Bumpy Trot series, offering more dynamic scenes during investigation segments. Gameplay alternates between aiming balls at targets and making dialogue choices to uncover clues, with outcomes affecting the plot’s direction. The story mode stands out for its campy tone, mixing dating sim aesthetics with whodunit absurdity. Players navigate a Showa-era setting where a pachinko prodigy becomes a suspect, figuring out bloody secrets across Japan. While pachinko fans will recognize familiar machine designs, the narrative’s over-the-top twists and deadpan humor create a niche charm. Community feedback notes the jarring shift in art style between modes but praises the series’ dedication to niche audiences. A cult pick for those curious about Japan’s pachinko culture wrapped in a B-movie mystery.

Storyline

It was the Showa era, a time when those who couldn't keep up with the waves of change were left behind, and the era was rapidly transforming. The protagonist, traveling across the country in pursuit of their training as a pachinko professional, happened to visit a pachinko parlor in "Pachipara Town" on a rainy morning. Although they had casually dropped by, inside the shop, they found a man and a woman lying on the floor, covered in blood. The man was already dead, while the woman had fainted. Accused of being the murderer by the store manager who appeared on the scene, the protagonist was framed and embarked on an investigation to clear their own name. However, as if one mystery led to another, the tragedy repeated itself...
