Pacific Islands is a turn-based strategy game where you command four tank units to retake enemy-occupied islands. Each of the five islands in the Yama Yama atoll has multiple battle areas to secure, with missions needing to be tackled in sequence but allowing flexibility in approach. You issue commands to all units at once then watch the action unfold in real time, balancing positioning and resource management to push back the enemy. The game stands out for its simultaneous control system and real time battlefield updates, which were uncommon for strategy titles in 1992. Players can switch between detailed maps and 3D perspectives to track vehicle status and plan maneuvers. Originally released on DOS and 16-bit systems, it built on the tactical foundations of its predecessor while adding layered island-based objectives.

Storyline

Year 1995. Disaffected Renegade Soviet communists, backed by North Korea, have invaded the Pacific atoll of Yam Yama. Your tank platoon, retunring from the Persian Gulf, is the closest American unit to the scene.
