Parasol Stars is a side-scrolling platformer where you wield a magical umbrella to summon lightning, fire, and rain against alien enemies. Players navigate eight worlds as Bubby, using elemental attacks to defeat creatures like electrified whales and feathered beasts. A second player can join locally for co-op battles, splitting screens to tackle levels together. Combat feels punchy but repetitive, with straightforward level design that leans on the franchise’s signature bubble-popping mechanics. The game’s charm lies in its quirky enemies and the return of Bubby’s buddy Bobby as a partner. However a 5.0/10 user rating suggests mixed reception with some calling it “a mixed bag” despite its creative umbrella-based powers. Available on Wii and retro platforms it runs smoothly but feels dated compared to later entries in the Bubble Bobble series. Fans of classic arcade action might appreciate the two-player mode but should expect a brief campaign with minimal polish.
