About

Peasant Uprise puts you in control of a ragtag group of farmers who must fight back against a new noble lord. These villagers have no training in war, so they rely on farming tools and sheer stubbornness to take back their province. The conflict started over a silly wine dispute between two noble families, but it ended with one lord exiling the other and seizing the land. You lead a small rebellion from Donnington as you try to survive without becoming cannon fodder for a much larger army. The game stands out because it leans hard into the absurdity of peasants trying to defeat nobility with pitchforks. Community data shows players enjoy the low-stakes but tense atmosphere where survival feels earned rather than given. Ratings suggest the story keeps people engaged even when the odds seem impossible. It is a single-player adventure that feels more like a desperate scramble than a traditional epic battle. The indie style brings a raw feel to the setting without unnecessary polish.

Storyline

The Wine Dispute No conflict in the entire kingdom was more absurd than the rivalry developed between the Ashly and Swayne noble families. Both families had for generations claimed to produce the best wine in the kingdom. It's unclear if common folk around the kingdom actually cared who deserved such an unimportant recognition, but for Lord Frederick Ashlyn and Lord Eldan Swayne this was a dispute about honor. At Arms Words turned to shouts and soon sabotage followed. It was to no surprise that a local war broke between the two provinces. King Frey had no time for petty disputes and he allowed the two lords to resolve their differences once and for all. Lord Eldan Swayne, overpowered by the guards of lord Frederick Ashlyn had nowhere to turn but exile. In accordance to the law, this meant that Swayne Province had just become a land owned by Lord Frederick Ashlyn. Peasant Uprise On the far south end of Swayne lay ground to Donnington; a small farmer's village loyal to Lord Eldan. In fear of what was to come from Lord Frederick rule, the inhabitants of Donnington gathered to listen to a commissary sent by Frederick. If news were not favorable, how would they master the bravery and foolishness to rebel against a noble lord? How would the good King Frey view this act of treason? How would the nearby folk feel about this journey? Would they join the cause or result to mockery at the craziness of this march? And so our story begins as news of the arrival of Ashlyn commissary reach this remote village...
