Peculiarities of National Fishing casts you as a group of bumbling anglers stranded on a drifting ice floe. This point-and-click adventure blends puzzle solving with arcade-style mini-games as you navigate springtime chaos on the Volga River. Players juggle absurd challenges like repairing equipment, dodging obstacles, and managing the eccentric personalities of four main characters. The gameplay loops around survival mechanics and environmental interactions, often requiring quick reflexes and lateral thinking to keep the group afloat. The game leans heavily into its comedic roots, with slapstick humor and character quirks driving both the story and gameplay. While its 2004 release date makes it a niche title, fans of quirky, physics-based puzzles might find the mix of absurdity and mechanics refreshing. The premise itself, turning a simple fishing trip into a surreal survival saga, remains its most memorable feature, offering a bizarre but lighthearted experience.
Kuzmich, Lyova, Finn and the General, the cult comedy characters known to all and sundry, go ice fishing in the upper reaches of the Volga. The bite is excellent, the weather is wonderful, and the nature is boundless. Rest, in general, has turned out to be literally heavenly, and there is no other way to say it. But there is one "but": the time of year our characters have chosen, unfortunately, not very good - spring is in full swing! And it did not fail to have an effect: as a result of natural overheating in the sun an ice floe with fishermen cracks off the shore and begins its journey down the river...
