This title was meant to be a modern reimagining of the 2004 action adventure classic. Players would have controlled characters who use psychic powers called Dusts to battle enemies in a gritty sci-fi setting. The gameplay focused on turn-based tactics where you summoned creatures and used environmental hazards to outmaneuver opponents. It promised to keep the complex strategy of the original while updating the visuals and mechanics for newer hardware like the Xbox One. Unfortunately, Microsoft Game Studios killed the project back in 2015 before anyone could try it. Fans still talk about what might have been with a mix of frustration and curiosity since the announcement generated quite a bit of buzz at the time. The cancellation left a hole in the catalog for those who loved the unique combat system of the first game. Nothing from this development effort ever made it to a store shelf or digital platform.
