You’re at a picnic but a swarm of bugs is trying to eat your food. In Picnic players swing a flyswatter to hit bugs and send them into an electric trap. The goal is to protect your meal by swatting as many pests as possible before time runs out. Single player mode focuses on high scores while two-player games turn it into a competitive back-and-forth. Controls are simple but timing matters, missed swats let bugs escape and the pace only intensifies. Despite its short release window in 1983 the game’s frantic energy and straightforward mechanics made it a cult favorite among early Atari fans.
