Piper is a point-and-click adventure that transplants the Pied Piper myth to a dusty Western town. You take control of the piper in Midas Valley, tasked with clearing a rat infestation. The plot shifts when the rodents uncover a map to buried gold, turning the job into a treasure hunt. The game unfolds across four self-contained episodes, each punctuated by bite-sized minigames that advance the story. The draw lies in its oddball mashup of genres and recognizable voice work from Jason David Frank. The episodic format keeps the pacing brisk, though the 90s-era puzzle design and clunky inventory system show their age. Community feedback notes the charm of its over-the-top Western aesthetic and the novelty of Power Rangers nostalgia, even if the core mechanics lean heavily on dated point-and-click tropes.
Piper is an adaptation of the Pied Piper of Hamelin that's set in the Old West, and is about a piper (played by Jason David Frank) who takes on the job of ridding the town of Midas Valley of rats. When the rats find the map to a secret gold treasure, the rat hunt turns into a race to see who can find the gold treasure first. The game is divided into four TV-style episodes with short minigames at key parts of the story.
