Pit-Fighter is an arcade brawler where up to three players team up or battle head-to-head. Choose from three fighters with distinct stats and unleash punches, kicks, or all-buttons-pressed "super moves" to drain opponents' energy. Every third round shifts to a Grudge Match where you fight clones or other players until only one remains. The final match pits you against a taunting Masked Warrior, but first you might have to eliminate fellow players in a winner-takes-all showdown. The arena is littered with throwables like knives, motorcycles, and the "power pill" to temporarily boost strength. Crowd members occasionally dive into the action, including knife-wielding interlopers that take one hit to dispatch. What sets Pit-Fighter apart is its chaotic crowd interactions and flexible multiplayer. Up to three players can join in, and the mix of Grudge Matches, environmental hazards, and sudden power-ups keeps each fight unpredictable. The 15 varied matches include bonus rounds where elimination rules apply, adding tension to every round. While the 1990 release date and Atari's name might raise eyebrows, the game holds up for its fast-paced combat and support for cooperative or competitive play. The ability to knock opponents into the audience and let the crowd push them back adds a rare layer of crowd-sourced strategy.
