Pitstop is a fast-paced racing game where managing your car's condition is as crucial as speed. Race across six tracks in the Grand Circuit, earning cash based on your finish and laps completed. Keep an eye on fuel and tire wear, run out or blow a tire and it's game over. Pitstops let you control the crew, swapping tires or refueling, but you must work quickly to avoid falling behind. The game offers single-player, multiplayer, and options to tweak difficulty and race length. A practice mode and mini circuit with three races provide shorter sessions. Released in 1983, Pitstop ran on Commodore 64, ColecoVision, and Atari 8-bit systems. Its blend of timing and resource management stood out for its era, with players balancing speed against careful maintenance. The ability to customize race settings and crew actions added replay value. Though simple by today's standards, the pressure of managing multiple systems while racing kept it engaging for its time.
