PJ the DJ is a fan-made rhythm game inspired by the whimsical world of Parappa the Rapper. You play as PJ Berri, a teddy bear DJ who loses his job after a doughnut-related disaster. To win it back, he embarks on a quest to prove his mixing skills. The gameplay revolves around beat-matching challenges, where timing and rhythm determine success. Simple controls make it easy to pick up, though mastering the flow requires practice. The game’s charm lies in its upbeat soundtrack and playful character interactions. The quirky story and zany dialogue stand out, offering a lighthearted take on redemption. While short, the game feels satisfying to complete, with a few surprises along the way. Available on Linux and Mac, it’s a niche pick for fans of retro-style music games. The art style and humor echo classic 90s-era titles, making it a nostalgic treat for older players.
One day PJ was DJ'ing as per usual but he got distracted by a doughnut laying right beside him. Instead of being responsible and ignoring it he instead reached for the doughnut, tripped on something, and somehow managed to miraculously burn down the entire nightclub he works at. Because of this incident his DJ'ing license was revoked and he's now jobless. For the first time in this teddy bear's life he has actual drive and motivation so he sets out to prove to the world how good of a DJ he is in hopes of getting his job back.
