Planet Patrol is a fast-paced arcade shooter where you pilot a spacecraft from right to left under relentless missile fire. Your mission is to destroy enemy fuel depots while dodging attacks and managing fuel. To stay airborne, you must locate a black ship that reveals a landing strip. After touching down, a truck automatically refuels your ship, but enemies keep coming with no pause for safety. The game introduces a clever visibility twist. As night falls, enemies become nearly invisible against the background. The only way to spot them is by firing your weapon, which briefly lights them up in muzzle flashes. Released on the Atari 2600 in 1982, it balances simple controls with tense decision-making. Players need steady hands and split-second timing to avoid getting overwhelmed by waves of incoming threats.
