Play to Befriend a Pokémon! is a puzzle action game where you control a paddle to bounce a ball and break colored blocks. Each consecutive hit adds 100 points and can drop orbs worth 500 if caught. Four levels and three lives let you chase high scores while collecting power-ups. The simple mechanics make it easy to pick up but challenging to master. The main hook was earning in-game orbs to claim one of seven evolved Pokémon through Pokémon Dream World. Players could unlock Vaporeon, Jolteon, and others by signing in with a Trainer Club account. Released in 2011 as a promotional Flash game for web browsers, it was taken down by May 2011. Despite its short lifespan, the mix of quick gameplay and tangible rewards left a nostalgic mark on fans.
