Pogglewash tasks you with playing a robot sent to an alien planet to scrub away gooey sludge. Using a water gun you blast through 3D platforming levels while aiding small creatures called Pogglewonks. The game mixes light shooting with precise jumps and environmental puzzles. As you clear goop you collect star-shaped crystals and help restore the planet’s ecosystems. The robot protagonist can’t swim so you must avoid water hazards while navigating rocky terrain. Developed by DigiPen students this title blends charming pixel art with straightforward controls. The mix of creature interactions and cleanup missions creates a quirky yet relaxed vibe. With a runtime around three to four hours it’s a brief but polished adventure. The May 2023 release earned modest praise for its creative concept and smooth level design. The Pogglewonks’ expressive animations add unexpected warmth to the sci-fi setting.

Storyline

Pogglewash is a casual 3rd person platformer and shooter. You play as DIPPER, a robot who’s sent to an alien planet named Pogglerock, home to the Pogglewonks, Gloons, and Wubaroos. Unfortunately, the planet is completely covered in goop, but the Pogglewonks don’t have the hands to clean it with. That’s why DIPPER’s mission is to clean it up with his water gun! DIPPER cleans his way through and restores this beautiful alien landscape, helping and being helped by the Pogglewonks in turn, and receiving shiny star-shaped crystals for his efforts. Just be careful around those idyllic shores! Robots aren’t very good at swimming, after all.
