About

Point of View is a 2001 interactive drama that lets you steer a psychological thriller through choices rather than actions. You watch a film split into 12 chapters, each ending with a set of questions about what you saw. Your answers determine which scenes play next, creating a nonlinear story shaped entirely by your interpretations. No buttons to press or items to collect, just reading between the lines of dialogue and visuals to decide where the plot goes. The lack of traditional gameplay mechanics makes it feel more like a choose-your-own-adventure book adapted for the screen. The game’s strength lies in its layered characters and morally gray scenarios. The story of Jane’s obsessive fascination with her neighbor and her friend’s dangerous correspondence hinges on perspective, with no clear right or wrong answers. While its 2000s-era production values show, the structure remains bold for its time, offering over 100 possible endings across roughly 8 hours of content. Fans of narrative-driven experiments with branching paths might find it intriguing, though its slow pacing and reliance on text-based decisions won’t appeal to everyone.

Storyline

The story centers on Jane, a beautiful but reclusive artist with a dark traumatic secret who develops a voyeuristic obsession with Frank, her neighbor across the street. She also becomes curious in a relationship her friend Mary is carrying through the personal ads in the local newspaper with a mysterious man called 'P'. All their lives become entwined in a complex storyline that develops as we learn more about the characters and the things hidden in their pasts. Point of View is a feature-length, interactive movie divided in twelve chapters. Each chapter ends in a series of questions probing your interpretations of the events you've witnessed, with your impressions shaping the course and outcome of the movie. There are no puzzles, there is no inventory, only your point of view.
