Pokémon Mezastar is an arcade game where players use physical tags to control teams of three Pokémon in fast-paced battles. Each tag corresponds to a specific Pokémon, letting you swap between them mid-fight as you clash in themed stages. The game’s dual-station setup shares a large screen for solo play or splits into separate views for two-player matches. Captured Pokémon are rewarded as new tags, adding a collectible element to the action. The setup’s dual-station design lets co-op teams merge their screens for expanded battles, a feature previously seen in Pokémon: Battle Nine but reworked here. While the 2020 launch faced delays due to pandemic restrictions, the game’s tag-based mechanics and localized arcade focus keep it niche. Players familiar with Takara Tomy’s earlier Pokémon arcade titles will recognize the rhythm, though the lack of home portability limits its reach.
