Pokémon Puzzle Collection is a compilation of four puzzle mini-games designed for the handheld Pokémon mini. Each mode challenges players to solve increasingly complex problems using quick reflexes and pattern recognition. Early options include matching shadow shapes and aligning moving pieces while rescuing trapped Pokémon. After solving 30 puzzles a fourth mode called Power On becomes available. Every puzzle type has 20 entries split into five difficulty tiers. Successfully completing a puzzle adds the featured Pokémon to the Minidex a smaller version of the main series Pokédex. The game’s charm lies in its tight loop of challenge and reward. Each puzzle mode has a distinct mechanic but they all scale smoothly in difficulty making progress feel satisfying. The Minidex serves as both a completionist goal and a way to track which Pokémon you’ve unlocked. While the lack of multiplayer limits replayability the single-player experience holds up for short bursts of casual play. With 80 total puzzles and incremental difficulty it offers a decent challenge for fans of quick puzzle games.
The player is allowed to choose from a selection of different types of puzzles. Initially, the only options are Shadow Puzzle, Motion Puzzle, and Rescue Mission, but after completing 30 puzzles, a fourth variety, Power On, is unlocked. There are 20 puzzles for each type, divided into five levels, with four puzzles to a level. The higher a puzzle's level, the more difficult the puzzle is. Once a puzzle is solved, the Pokémon involved in the puzzle is added to the game's Pokédex, the Minidex.
