Pokémon Race Mini lets you play as Pikachu in a series of timed platforming races. Each course requires navigating obstacles like grass and water while completing three laps. You collect a special charge attack per lap to boost speed and access new areas. The controls are straightforward but require precise timing to maintain momentum and avoid losing ground to rival Pokémon. Released in 2002 for the Pokémon mini handheld, this single-player game blends racing with light platforming challenges. While the small screen and simple graphics limit depth, the tight controls and growing list of courses offer a quick, replayable experience. Early handheld racing fans might appreciate its niche charm, though modern players may find the stages repetitive after a few attempts.
You have to run and jump over various obstacles in stages in order to get to the end before your opponent. There are obstacles throughout the stages such as grass and water. You have to complete three laps of each course in order to finish, and with each lap you get a special charge attack in order to quickly shoot forwards, gaining momentum and possibly reaching parts you couldn't previously get to.
