Polygonet Commanders is a third person shooter that mixes rapid fire action with close quarters combat. You control a soldier armed with a mix of automatic weapons and melee attacks. The game uses rotating 3D environments to let you switch between ranged and up close fighting. Checkpoints and health pickups keep the action moving as you battle through wave after wave of enemies. This early 3D title from Konami pushed arcade hardware in 1993. While it never got a home release the game's use of polygonal graphics and fluid combat earned it a cult following. Players still praise the tight controls and balanced difficulty even if the story is more about blasting than plot.
