Popgoes 0 started life as a fan project before developer Phisnom decided to pivot it into an official sequel slotting between the first two games in the series. You play as Strings after Simon tweaks his Curiosity module, trapping you inside a hallucinated version of the Pizzeria where fake animatronics hunt you down. This single-player strategy title forces you to navigate a twisted reality while avoiding the Generated Animatronics that populate this strange new map. The project aimed to show how Simon became the main attraction in this distorted timeline. The game never fully launched because the story changes it demanded conflicted too much with the existing Popgoes 2 plot, leading to its cancellation and de-canonization. Even though players never got a full release, a teaser image of a Generated Popgoes box in Popgoes Arcade 2 hinted at what was coming. It remains an interesting piece of lore for those who follow the series closely since it explains early character dynamics before things went wrong.
