Previous Tenant is a tense, atmospheric horror game set in a single apartment where every creak and whisper feels like a threat. You play as Markus, a new tenant who begins questioning his sanity as unsettling noises and eerie occurrences escalate. The gameplay revolves around exploring the dimly lit space, solving environmental puzzles, and uncovering fragments of a dark history tied to the building. The absence of traditional combat means the fear comes purely from the environment and your growing sense of dread. The game leans heavily into audio design, using silence and sudden noises to maximize jump scares. Its claustrophobic setting amplifies the tension, making even a locked door feel like a barrier between you and something dangerous. While the story is sparse, the oppressive atmosphere and effective use of pacing keep the unease building. Players who enjoy psychological horror with minimal exposition may find it unsettlingly effective, though the reliance on shock moments could wear thin for some.
The apartment Since Markus has settled into his new apartment, he feels comfortable when the neighbours started talking about that...thing, Markus began having a bad feeling about living in his new home. Even though there was no reason to worry, except for his new neighbours gossiping around he felt...different. As the days passed by he could not stop questioning whether they might be right or not. Markus remembered reading an article in his local newspaper about a man being haunted in his own apartment. They portrayed it as a fake because obviously ghosts and paranormal activities don´t exist, right? Maybe Markus wasn´t the only one wondering about what could possibly happen next. He told himself he had no reason for believing these fairy tales until he got overwhelmed by his concerns. The last thing Markus remembers is waking up in his bathroom with a serious hangover. It also seems like there are some odd noises outside the door but he could not remember giving his neighbours a key to his apartment. He felt nervousness rising up in him. He needed to contact the guy he read about in the newspaper as soon as possible but... all of Markus´belongings are outside the bathroom.
