Price for Freedom: Avarice puts you in control of Redic as a turn-based tactical CRPG that treats combat like a card game with physical stakes. You target specific enemy limbs to disable them while managing your own team's health across the battlefield. The story follows Redic after he escapes his past and lands in the trade city of Kaldea, where local politics clash with an ancient threat. Your choices shift how four main companions react to you and alter their methods for solving problems. The world features hand-drawn cities and wilderness areas you can explore on foot or through procedural caves. The battle system stands out because enemies draw from a hidden card deck to decide their moves. You can peek at those cards, shuffle them back into the pile, or even discard specific actions permanently to gain an advantage. Outside of fights, the game offers hunting, fishing, cooking, and arm wrestling as ways to pass time. Hidden pinups and romantic encounters are tucked away in side quests throughout the map. Storyline

Bruised, battered, and beaten... Redic wakes in the back of a wagon rocking and clattering towards new lands far from his home. Far from his past. Leaving his homeland of Einad behind, discovery the wild independent trade city of Kaldea alongside Redic. Though he wished to start a new and leave his sordid troubled life behind, Redic finds himself quickly pressed into service by forces beyond mortal reckoning and torn between two warring independent cities. Redic finds himself torn between Kaldea's political leadership each with their own ideas and solutions to resisting annexation by the ancient city of Atlathka. But through the darkness and turmoil he will find new allies, friends, and romance.
