Prince of Qin is a historical action-RPG set during the collapse of China’s Qin Dynasty. You play Fusu, a crown prince fleeing assassination and navigating political intrigue to uncover a royal conspiracy. Battle through over 100 environments based on ancient Chinese architecture, using a team of up to five characters in tactical combat. Each fight blends strategy with a fighting system rooted in the Five Elements, fire, water, wood, metal, earth, where weaknesses and synergies shift the tide of battle. Randomly generated weapons, items, and enemies keep encounters fresh, while a crafting system adds depth to progression. The game stands out for its layered systems and historical context. Its multi-scenario missions and branching story lead to multiple endings, encouraging replays. The Great Wall and Terracotta Warriors Tomb appear as key locations, offering visually distinct settings. Released in 2002, it earned praise for balancing complexity with accessibility. Though not widely remembered today, its mix of co-op and competitive multiplayer modes and focus on elemental combat mechanics make it a niche title for fans of strategy-driven RPGs.
Fusu, the Crown Prince of the Qin Empire, is ordered to commit suicide according to an imperial decree by his father, the First Emperor. General Meng Tian suspects something is wrong with the order and stops Fusu. Fusu flees from Shangjun with Meng Tian's help and arrives in the nearby Zhaocun Village. He makes a long and perilous journey back to the capital, Xianyang, to uncover the truth. Fusu is shocked to hear that his father had died and that his youngest brother, Huhai, has ascended the throne as the Second Emperor. He meets his childhood friend, General Huan Feng, and learns that there is something fishy about his father's death. He decides to enter his father's tomb to investigate.
