Princess Quest casts you as Willow a swordsman hired to solve a royal heist. A stolen artifact and visiting nobles set the stage for a mystery that requires stealth and subterfuge. With help from a magic creature you switch between male and female forms to blend in. Play as Willow to scope out the castle or shift to Will to mingle with the princesses. Dialogue choices and investigation drive the story forward in this turn based RPG. The game mixes gender bending disguise mechanics with classic JRPG structure. Players navigate social interactions and combat to uncover the thief’s identity. While dated by modern standards the quirky premise and branching narratives earned it a cult following. Later ported to PC as Princess Quest R it remains a niche title for fans of 90s strategy driven role playing.

Storyline

Five princesses from surrounding kingdoms are visiting Granmalnie Castle, but young Prince Tapioca isn't showing much interest. Meanwhile, someone makes off with a valuable item. Queen Madeleine hires a young swordsman named Willow to investigate the theft. Willow is joined by Pal, a magical creature who transforms Willow into a girl, named Will. Using this disguise, Willow tries to gain the trust of the princesses, in hopes of determining who is responsible for the theft.
