About

Pripyat Block 1986 is a found-footage horror game that drops you into the silent, decaying halls of an abandoned Soviet apartment complex. You move through the building alone, documenting your exploration with a camcorder as creaks and distant noises blur the line between natural decay and something more sinister. The game thrives on tension, with no combat or puzzles to distract from the creeping dread of being watched. Every corridor feels like a gamble, empty or occupied, safe or a trap. The non-linear layout means no two playthroughs unfold the same, though the outcome remains uncertain. The VHS-style visuals and muted palette amplify the claustrophobic realism, making each frame feel like a home video gone wrong. Early access reviews highlight its ability to keep players frozen in place, unsure whether to investigate or retreat. With no health bars or scripted jump scares, the horror comes from ambiguity and the weight of solitude. It's a short, unsettling experience that lingers, particularly with fans of low-key, slow-burn urban exploration.

Storyline

15 years after the Chernobyl incident you have trespassed into the territory of Pripyat to explore one of the abandoned apartment blocks. As you continue with your exploration throughout the night, every sound and noise keeps you on edge and you can't help shake the feeling that you are not alone.
